The group of six teachers from the Theoretical Highschool "Ion Agarbiceanu" from Jibou - Romania led by Mr. Headteacher Liviu Sampalean paied a visit to The Tehnical Institute "Luigi Einaudi" from Manduria - Italia in the partnership "Eurocitizenship" from 15 to 18 March 2004.

The enormous fatigue accumulated durin the very long voyage made in a bus (50 hours) was replaced by the excellent program organised by our hosts.

We had a really efficient experience made of visits to the school that impressed us by its huge and lightful space, by its tehnical endowement and its perfect functionality, mettings with the teachers and the students, that impressed us by their interest and enthuziasm as regards the project and its theme. Our hosts facilitated us visits and trips trough the town of Manduria, Lecce and Porto Cesaro, everything full of exotism and ancient traces of the civilisations that succeded one after another trough their long history.

We also have been impressed by the huge plantations of vigne and olives, very well maintained, the sunny seaside and especially by the kindness of the people living here as well as the resemblance of our native tongues as an expression of our commun latin origin.

Still keeping in our minds the delightful images the people and places of Manduria we send to Mr. Headteacher Italo Montinaro and to his collegues our most sincere thanks for the hospitality they showed during our visit and we renew the invitation of coming to Jibou in the month of May, when spring dresses nature in flowers in our town too.
